SPRINGLOCK Security Lock Marker and Release Tool

The SPRINGLOCK Security Lock Release Tool is specifically designed to detach picture frames that have been secured to a wall using a SPRINGLOCK anti-theft mechanism. These mechanisms typically involve a hidden locking element on the back of the frame that engages with a fixture on the wall.

To use the release tool, you carefully slide its thin profile into the small gap behind the frame, aiming to locate and engage with the internal locking component of the SPRINGLOCK system. Once the tool is correctly positioned, gently pulling the insert (or sometimes levering the tool) will manipulate the internal mechanism, causing the lock to disengage from the wall-mounted fixture. This action allows the frame to be safely lifted away from the wall.

Marker

The permanently attached button on the release tool serves as a marker. After releasing the lock and while the tool is still in position, the marker can be pressed against the wall to indicate the location of the hidden fixing point. This is particularly useful if you need to re-hang the frame or hang other items in the same spot, as it saves you from having to blindly search for the correct position. The fixed nature of the button ensures it’s always available when needed and cannot be lost separately.
